Spoiler alert. You have been warned. Proceed with caution.

-----

Several months ago, I read Gods of Manila Part 1 by M. A. Del Rosario. I was in awe of the story, of the metaphors. I messaged the author (who is now my bff, lol) to tell him about what I thought of the book. I told him that I liked the story a lot and that I'm looking forward to Part 2. I also told him that I'm excited to learn more about Santi, how and why he survived. I told him I will be patiently waiting for Part 2. Lol. He laughed and replied by saying that Part 2 will answer my questions on Santi.

So fast forward to yesterday when I finished reading Gods of Manila Part 2. What a great story! I was sad when I finished reading it.

The story is not only about myths and legends. It is also about how most people don't see and don't truly appreciate their surroundings. I have found Santi as Manila to represent nature and how nature protects and repairs itself. I told M. A. about what I thought of Part 2. And he said there is a back story and shared the link to Manila, which was a short story he wrote in 2007 and was published by the Philippines Graphic. The great storyteller that he is, M. A. turned that short story into a comic.

I read Manila that night. I was smiling as I was reading it.

So if you like great storytelling and dark fantasy tales, go and buy copies of Gods of Manila Part 1 and Part 2. Links below.

Part 1 is also available on Amazon:
