I quit social media

I quit social media last night. Lol. I was only back on Instagram for a week when I decided to deactivate it again. I also decided to deactivate our Facebook business page and my personal Facebook account, but not my Messenger because that's where I communicate with some of my closest friends. The only social media page left is our business page on Instagram. I am keeping it active because that's where we have actually made several meaningful connections with authors, illustrators, artists, and publishers.

I only have one reason for quitting social media. I am exhausted. Drained. Mentally and physically. I had been managing our business pages for a year and it definitely took a toll on my mental and physical health. The constant checking. The constant scrolling. I am so tired of it all. Of course, deactivating our Facebook business page was a business decision. I had to consider a lot of things and had to discuss it with my sister. But since we are already paying for all our books to be displayed at a concept store, the decision to deactivate was not that difficult.

So now I can finally focus more on writing, reading, other things I want to be doing, planning, and making long-term goals for myself and our bookstore.
